Building and Managing API Products

In previous chapters, we learned about viewing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) as products and how maturity and governance are established across the API life cycle. In this chapter, we will start to dig deeper into the process of building and managing API products and how to phase this process so that we can do so methodically and systematically.

As you advance an API product from an experimental product to a more mature product, you must continue to develop the product strategy to keep up with evolving customer expectations and stakeholder needs. In this chapter, we will look at the various aspects of building and managing API products in line with these evolving needs as the API goes through its maturity life cycle.
