Preparing for successful SharePoint Online adoption

By default, SharePoint and OneDrive for Business are enabled for all users with a license in M365. For Microsoft Teams to work, SharePoint must be enabled. Before your first task can be added to a planner board, a SharePoint site must be created.

Groups have nowhere to put documents without a SharePoint site. In other words, it’s hard to avoid using SharePoint if you’re using M365. Remember, however, that adoption and usage are not the same.

One of the primary goals of this book is to enable technical architects to configure, govern, and understand SharePoint Online effectively. This is our opportunity to make sure that hard work on the technical side is enhanced by making sure that business needs, user expectations, and productivity impact receive equal attention.
