Preface
GitOps has become a very popular term in the CI/CD and DevOps industry recently. From its inception a few years ago, GitOps has grown and mutated to the point where it has become difficult to understand and even difficult to implement. This book is intended to clear the air surrounding GitOps, especially considering the many different tools and vendors that claim to be GitOps tools without a clear definition of what they mean. Understanding the different GitOps types on the market today, what the benefits and drawbacks are of each of those types, and what anti-patterns to look out for, are all important when considering GitOps for your organization. By the end of this book, you will have the understanding required to adopt the appropriate GitOps style and direct your team to a more repeatable, reliable, and scalable deployment and delivery practice.
