Learning Salesforce Einstein

Role of AI in CRM and Cloud Applications

The power of the Salesforce platform is its ability to build applications declaratively using clicks and not code. The Salesforce App Cloud platform provides workflows, process builders, analytics, and many more declarative tools for admins to build applications, and Salesforce Einstein embeds an AI seamlessly across various cloud offerings of platforms such as sales, service, marketing, community, analytics, commerce, App Cloud, and IOT Cloud. This chapter shows how administrators can declaratively add the power of AI into applications without the need for data scientists. Traditionally, for most companies, bringing AI to the business process was too hard. It's complex and requires infrastructure and skills that most companies don't have. Einstein simplifies all those complexities.

The aim of this chapter is to take some examples...

Sales Cloud Einstein offerings

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is meant to increase its relationship with customers assisting in customer retention and driving sales. The Salesforce Sales Cloud comes with an extensive set of functionality and automation to help sales representatives focus on closing more deals.

With AI baked into the sales cloud, sales representatives can focus on the right opportunity. We will see some of the latest declarative features offered by the platform to increase the representative productivity.

The prediction algorithms themselves learn from the CRM activities and other data. The following are some of the features we will briefly touch upon and see how they can increase the representative productivity:

  • Automated Activity Capture
  • Lead Insights
  • Opportunity Insights
  • Account Insights
Before enabling Sales Cloud Einstein, Salesforce provides...

Community Cloud Einstein features

Setting up a customer or partner community for your organization opens a whole new world of collaboration, connecting partners, and customers with your employees. Collaboration can accelerate sales and enable you to provide stellar service to your customers.

Community Cloud provides a drag and drop builder known as Community Builder to build pages and host a portal to allow partners, employees, and customers to collaborate. If you are not familiar with communities, you can imagine them as a social collaboration platform for enterprise, where your customers can monitor cases, find FAQ answers for self-troubleshooting issues, contact support, live chat with the support representative, and so on.

Einstein on Community Cloud adds the power of AI to bring up personalized feeds on Chatter, show unanswered questions, and recommend articles, experts,...

Marketing Cloud Einstein features

The Marketing cloud from Salesforce offers a suite of products for marketers to establish a one-to-one journey with their customers. The product consists of the following applications:

  • Email Studio: This offers marketers the ability to send emails with personalized and dynamic content from Salesforce sales, service, or any other data source
  • Social Studio: This offers marketers the ability to publish, engage, and analyze sentiments of customers from various social channels
  • Mobile Studio: This offers marketers the ability to send SMS, MMS, and personalized push messages
  • Advertising Studio: This manages ads and campaigns
  • Web Studio: This creates websites and landing pages and tracks actions taken by customers

In the past, marketers had to assign values to their customers. Let's say a marketer wanted to identify customers who were likely to...

Summary

This chapter showed declarative features added across various cloud offerings, such as sales, service, and Marketing Cloud. As one can infer from this chapter, adding AI to the platform will enable applications to get smarter, which in turn will help sales representatives, marketers, and support representatives serve and engage customers better. In the next chapter, you will learn how to use code and the capabilities of PredicitonIO and Salesforce Heroku to build machine learning tasks.

Can I download the code files for Early Access titles? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.

When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.

How accurate is the publication date? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen. Often those delays are out of our control, such as changes to the technology code base or delays in the tech release. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the publication date at any given time, and as more chapters are delivered, the more accurate the delivery date will become.

What is Early Access? Chevron down icon Chevron up icon

Keeping up to date with the latest technology is difficult; new versions, new frameworks, new techniques. This feature gives you a head-start to our content, as it's being created. With Early Access you'll receive each chapter as it's written, and get regular updates throughout the product's development, as well as the final course as soon as it's ready. We created Early Access as a means of giving you the information you need, as soon as it's available. As we go through the process of developing a course, 99% of it can be ready but we can't publish until that last 1% falls in to place. Early Access helps to unlock the potential of our content early, to help you start your learning when you need it most. You not only get access to every chapter as it's delivered, edited, and updated, but you'll also get the finalized, DRM-free product to download in any format you want when it's published. As a member of Packt, you'll also be eligible for our exclusive offers, including a free course every day, and discounts on new and popular titles.
