The role of data in digital transformation
As we learned in the first section of this book, digital transformation allows organizations to rethink how they interact with their clients and service them. Where paper processes dominated, organizations began to adopt digital systems that can more easily consume, manipulate, and showcase information. This transformation allowed business leaders to have a much broader and more accurate understanding of the business as a whole given that data fidelity and availability significantly improved.
The adoption of digital systems played a large role in ensuring that processes that may have been slow, laborious, and expensive were automated, empowering employees to be more productive and less prone to error.
