Understanding customers

Selecting the audience for your marketing campaign is one of the first decisions you must make when creating a new campaign. The ability to filter and select a subset of customers to contact is essential for your marketing endeavors. Creating targeted messages that increase the success rate of your campaign relies heavily on filtering the target audience. This is done through segmentation. Let's see how.

Managing customer segments

Imagine running an Advanced Find on your Contacts and deciding on a filter for all customers residing in Toronto. Your ADVANCED FIND query would look something like what's shown in the following screenshot:

The idea of segmentation is similar in many ways. Your end result is a subset of Contacts to be targeted by your campaign.
