Data Loss Prevention
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is a feature that is designed to allow organizations to prevent mishandling of sensitive data. DLP policies can be applied to content in Microsoft 365 to identify and protect certain types of data. Building on the features of Microsoft 365 DLP, you can now implement DLP policies in Microsoft Teams. DLP can be used to protect content in both messages and file attachments.
DLP policies in the Microsoft 365 platform rely on sensitive information types (stylized as sensitive info types in the user interface). A sensitive information type is a complex definition of what constitutes sensitive information to your organization. A sensitive information-type definition can include a mixture of simple keywords, large keyword dictionaries, and regular expressions.
