Since we are going to use this sample information system and its supposed owner company for the rest of the book, we should take a bit of time to introduce what it does, explain how it is organized, what are their requirements, and so on. Reaching business/IT alignment requires the business to be clear, as many architectural and technical choices will flow one way or another from what the business needs.
