Creating burndown charts

A burndown chart graphs the amount of work that's been performed against a project over time and subtracts this value from the total amount of work for the entire project. This allows project managers to gather a general sense of whether enough work is being performed on the project to meet expected deadlines, and of the overall amount of work that's left to do on the project.

This recipe demonstrates how to create a burndown chart in Power BI.

Getting Ready

To prepare for this recipe, do the following:

1. Open Power BI Desktop.
2. Use an Enter Data query to create a table called R07_Project that contains the following data:
