Configuring High Availability
After we have introduced the High Availability's concepts, we can learn how to enable HA.
This feature can be enabled on a pool using either XenCenter or the xe CLI.
Remember that when HA is enabled, some operations that would compromise the plan for restarting VMs may be disabled, such as removing a server from a pool. To perform these operations, HA can be temporarily disabled, or alternately, VMs protected by HA made unprotected. We will cover how to this later in the chapter.
If you want to enable HA using XenCenter, follow this procedure:
Connect to your XenServer pool and click on your pool name.
Click on Pool | High Availability… to start the High Availability wizard.
The wizard guides you through the process. Click on Next to continue.
