Missing OS
The Chrome operating system is at the core of your computer’s overall functionality. So, it is of the utmost importance that it remains healthy and running. However, there are instances where the operating system experiences issues that prevent it from loading correctly.
When this happens, try the following options to resolve the issue:
- Perform a full shutdown:
Sometimes, corruption in running software code can cause the OS to have issues. To resolve this problem, you can try unplugging all peripherals from your ChromeOS device and fully shutting the system down. When it powers back on, the corrupt code may be cleared and the issue resolved.
- Perform an OS recovery:
If the OS issues persist following a shutdown and restart of your system, you may need to perform a full OS recovery. The process for performing the recovery is fully detailed in Chapter 5, Recovering from Disasters.
