Casting and syncing
We’ve reviewed several methods for connecting your ChromeOS device to other technology, but to what end? Well, two of the best reasons for creating these connections are casting and syncing. In ChromeOS, casting is the process of streaming content from one device to another device using supported apps. Syncing is the process of creating a connection between your ChromeOS device, Android devices, and other devices that use the Google Chrome web browser. The sync process allows saved data, extensions, themes, search history, and other information stored by Chrome to be copied and synchronized across your devices.
Let’s look at how to set up casting and syncing on your ChromeOS device.
Casting from Google Chrome
To cast from your ChromeOS device to a remote display, speaker, or streaming device (Chromecast, Roku, Amazon Firestick, etc.), you’ll need to use the Cast feature built into the Google Chrome web browser:
