Appendix: Licensing

License activation

All Check Point appliances, physical or virtual, after completing the First Time Configuration Wizard, have an automatically-activated 15-day trial license for every blade in the container(s) attached to the product. This license is sufficient for the following purposes:

Quickly testing a feature, configuration, or behavior
Performing the initial configuration of the Check Point infrastructure and Access Control policies
Assigning and activating either production or evaluation licenses

Your first action, in terms of licensing, is to generate a license associated with the IP address of your primary Security Management Server appliance. In ASSET /INFO | MY ACCOUNTS | Product Center, open the Product Center page. On that page, click on Smart-1 ### NGSM (for physical appliances) or Next Generation Security Management (for virtual appliances). This will be used as a primary management server.
