Custom fields
If the existing dimensions and measures are not enough for Explore users (Standard users/Creators), they can easily create their custom fields.
Note that custom fields offer temporary, Explore-specific calculations with limited reusability, while LookML provides permanent, model-wide definitions for reusable and governed metrics.
There are multiple ways to create custom fields , and we will go through them in this section. We’ll continue working in the Orders and Users Explore.
If necessary, you can always prevent users from creating custom fields in Explores (creating custom fields requires the "create_custom_fields" permission assigned by your Looker admin).
