Learning about capacity, scalability, and resiliency
Now that we understand the architecture that underpins the Microsoft Azure Stack Hub, let's turn to capacity, scalability, and resiliency. When we are talking about capacity, there are certain things that need to be considered and should act as inputs to the capacity planning process. These include the following:
- Servers
- Cores
- Memory
- GPU
- Storage devices (capacity)
- NIC performance
- Storage performance
- Infrastructure use (VMs and software updates)
- Form factors
- Application behaviors
When you are planning for a Microsoft Azure Stack Hub implementation, you need to consider the hardware configuration choices as these will have a direct impact on the overall capacity of the Microsoft Azure Stack Hub solution.
You need to think about choices with regards to CPU, memory density, GPU, storage configuration, network speed, and the overall solution's scale or number of servers....
