Human-centered design
This is an important approach to empower you to design a wearable that will address the needs of the people and stakeholders we’ve identified in our stakeholder mapping session. On a basic level, this process involves observing people, then ideation, and finally implementation. The overarching theme is that we can help people to live better, easier lives through our designs and design improvements. These phases involve what we’ve been discussing so far in the chapter, speaking to people to better understand them and their needs. Then, ideation, or making sense of what people are saying, which we will examine in the Sense-making section. This involves identifying opportunities for design and generating ideas, followed by the implementation, bringing the wearable to life.
Observing people and keeping notes on these observations provides valuable information that can help inform the design. Often when observing, we think we will remember, so we rely...
