Using the Cloth brush to add wrinkles to the shirt
3D software packages such as Blender often come with the ability to perform cloth simulations; this means that the computer can move the polygons around and make them interact like cloth – bunching up, folding, wrinkling, draping over surfaces, and so on.
We'll learn more about cloth simulations by the end of this chapter. One of the disappointing things about cloth simulations though is that they are performed by the computer, and the only way to adjust the outcome of the simulation is to adjust the input parameters and run the simulation over again. This means that it's not a very hands-on way to work.
Blender recently introduced a revolutionary new feature to the sculpting toolset – the Cloth brush. The Cloth brush is a special type of brush that is able to run a cloth simulations in real-time while we sculpt. This will allow us to drag the surface of a sculpture around, which will act like cloth while...
