Introduction
The software landscape is constantly changing and QGIS is no exception. There are new features added weekly, and a huge, growing library of plugins. This chapter highlights some of the newer features at the time of writing. These are features that we think will be around for some time due to their usefulness. Keep in mind, however, that they are still in development and can easily change at any moment; hopefully, this is for the better. Included in this chapter are the handling of some more recent and additional formats that were not covered earlier, such as LIDAR, File Geodatabases, and Geopackages. Also included are several recipes on topology usage, editing, and fixing. Finally, there are a few recipes on how you can become part of the community that helps evolve QGIS through bug hunting and reporting.
