Summary
In this chapter, we focused on the structural and layout aspects of Business Central report objects. We studied the primary structural components, data, and format, along with the request page. We also experimented with some of the tools and modestly expanded our WDTU application.
You should be comfortable with creating a report object that not only creates output with Excel but also adds business logic and customizes input requests to the user. Report objects are the most powerful and versatile object type in Business Central as they accept input, process data, and show output in a variety of formats. The looping mechanisms are built to make data extraction and processing from SQL fast and efficient for developers.
