A closing thought
There is a classic stage play and film of the same name called Glengarry Glen Ross in which the phrase Always Be Closing (ABC) was popularized and came to define the art of selling and salesmanship. Well, I will create a new phrase for UX right now: Always Be Learning (ABL).
Like any profession worth pursuing, there should always be something more to learn and something new to discover on a regular basis. UX provides a wellspring of learning, where almost daily new information comes along to challenge what we thought we knew and to provide us with a glimpse into what may be around the corner. With UX, there is no shortage of new ideas and when you discover them, it's in your best interest to understand and pursue them to the fullest extent. Some may be trends, while others may be fads. Nevertheles, like tools, it is always good to know about them and how to use them, because one day they may come in handy.
