Restoring client data via the DPM client

This recipe will cover how you can restore your data from the DPM client, on the client side. When restoring data from the DPM agent on the client side, you must have a connection to the DPM server for verification.

Getting ready

The most important thing to bring up initially is who actually owns the backed up data. System Center Data Protection Manger 2012 R2 is sometimes used as a migration tool for end users. This is a very easy setup and is very helpful for the administrators in the company or organization. The actual owner of the protected data is the domain user. This opens up a great possibility; if a user receives a new laptop or desktop, he or she can easily restore My Documents folder from the DPM server to the new hardware.
