In this chapter, we covered an overview of planning for a successful migration to SharePoint Online, such as determining bandwidth requirements and what type of permissions strategy you're going to employ. We reviewed, at a high level, SharePoint Online site architecture ideas (such as hub sites and modern sites) and how you might map your current design into that.
We also looked at some of the migration tools and paths you can choose, such as SPMT or utilizing Microsoft partner resources.
Finally, we addressed one of the most important topics—change management.
In the next chapter, we'll look at the steps to actually perform migrations using the native tools.
