Working with Bookmarks

Now that the video has been inserted in the project, you can start the process of adding interactive features to the video. In this section, you will start by adding bookmarks. In the next section, you will use these bookmarks to generate the needed interactions:

  1. Make sure you are still on slide 20 of the Chapter05/takeTheTrain.cptx file.
  2. If needed, open the Timeline panel at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Use the play icon in the bottom-left corner of the Timeline panel to play the slide.
  4. Pause the video just before you hear the train attendant whistling (around the 5.5 second mark on the Timeline).

The current location of the red Playhead is where you want to add the first bookmark. To do so, turn your attention to the Playhead in the Timeline panel. As shown on the following screenshot, two extra layers have been added to the Timeline: the Bookmark and the Overlay layers:

There are also two extra buttons on the playhead: a little square with a + sign to add...
