Chapter 7. Hyper-V Security and System Center VMM
So far, we've covered a number of different security concepts, both from a guest VM's perspective and from the perspective of the virtualization host itself. These concepts apply to standalone Hyper-V hosts and Hyper-V failover clusters alike, but what happens when System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) is thrown in the mix?
In some perspectives, SCVMM (sometimes simply referred to as VMM for short) makes our lives as system administrators easier as it is an enterprise grade tool that commands our entire virtual infrastructure and backend fabric. Some will say that this makes the configuration of security concepts and best practices easier, but at the same time, we're adding complexity to the mix. Added complexity means we have a potentially larger attack surface that we need to cover from a security perspective.
While SCVMM itself doesn't really change the Hyper-V security playing field a whole lot, it...
