Knowing use requirements
The use requirements are set by the Data Use Agreement. If you have ever installed a new piece of software and before you could use it, you needed to agree to a Terms of Use policy, then you have been on the receiving end of one of these policies. It states what data they can collect, what they can do with it, how they will handle it, when they will delete, and whether they can retain it.
The Data Use Agreement is a legal document, and it is unlikely you will ever need to write one as a data analyst. However, you need to know what rules are set in the Data Use Agreement document used by your company. This clearly sets boundaries on how the data can be handled. Deviating from the Data Use Agreement is illegal and will have consequences for the company and for you personally.
