Understanding heat maps, tree maps, and geographic maps
The final category of visualizations you need to know for the exam is the maps: heat, tree, and geographic. These may or may not be what you would think of when you hear the word map. A map is a visualization that depicts the relationship between different elements based on some variable. A traditional map, a geographic map, shows the distance and direction between separate points so that you can see how to get from one area to another.
