Introducing Inventory management
To understand the Inventory management module, we need to first comprehend the daily operations and flows in a warehouse. We can separate warehouse activities into three main flows:
- Inbound operations: These activities let us bring materials into the warehouse
- Outbound operations: Here, we record which materials have left the warehouse
- Internal operations: These activities control the flow of materials inside the warehouse
We’re going to simulate a real-world scenario in this chapter. Imagine we’re working for a sportswear company and implementing the Inventory management module in a warehouse that works with sports shoe stock, such as running shoes and football shoes.
