Summary
In this chapter, we looked at working with monitoring and managing in Azure Stack Hub. We started with some of the basics of the monitoring subsystem in Azure Stack Hub, which included an introduction to infrastructure resource providers, such as the health resource provider. We went through the monitoring philosophy of Azure Stack Hub, where Azure Stack Hub and how it is managed is controlled by alerts. We introduced the Azure Monitor platform, which provides metrics for compute and storage services in Azure Stack Hub. We walked through how the health resource provider works and how to deal with alerts. We then went through how to integrate monitoring in Azure Stack Hub into other data center tools such as System Center and Nagios. This introduced us to the REST API and the PowerShell commands that can be used from outside Azure Stack Hub to glean information about the health and status of Azure Stack Hub.
