Implementing a Data Retention Policy
Implementing a data retention policy in Azure is like organizing and managing your digital files securely and efficiently. This policy does a couple of important things: it decides how long different kinds of data should stick around and whether it should be stored away for safekeeping or discarded permanently.
Azure gives you the tools to do this precisely, such as Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL database, and ADLS. In addition, there are handy features such as soft delete and time-based rules to help manage things automatically. You can follow the best practices, including collaboration with compliance teams, clear documentation, communication of the policy to stakeholders, and regular reviews and adjustments of the policy, as needed to ensure its effectiveness.
