Technical requirements

We will be using the same hardware and software requirements as discussed in the Technical requirements section of Chapter 1.

Let’s go ahead and jump into Civil 3D. We’ll begin by familiarizing ourselves with the user interface to get an idea of where to locate all the tools and functionality that will be covered in this book. We will use the dataset found in the Civil 3D 2025 Unleashed\Chapter 2\Model subfolder, starting with the file titled Grading Model_Start.dwg. Once opened, you should see the grading design model displayed, as shown in Figure 2.1:
