We already discussed several security issues throughout the previous recipes of this chapter. We handled the well-known and basic security issues. There are many other areas that we need to consider such as file permissions, malware scanning, firewalls, and spam prevention. Often, these are not directly visible and we only identify them when there is a security breach on the site.
There are several free plugins that provide many of these advanced features within the plugin as well as providing security through external services.
In this recipe, we are going to use an existing plugin to scan the site and find many possible security issues as well as areas for improving the security.
