Account and Access Management
To ensure success with your account and access management program, it must start with well-defined policies that enforce the correct standards and procedures throughout the life cycle process. Any mismanagement of this process can result in significant damage to your organization due to the critical nature of identity in cybersecurity. Some examples of this include not applying the PoLP to a user account, untimely terminations, or not managing and auditing your privileged accounts. One method to help with any mismanagement or manual errors is implementing automation wherever possible. The more you can automate, the fewer errors will occur. There will always be a need for manual processes, whether it be the initial input of user data, physical validation that the information is correct, or applying an end date to a user, but the more you can reduce these processes, the less error prone they will be.
