Summary
The purpose of a business framework is to define the relationships between key business concepts so that everyone in the organization shares a high-level common language.
Different frameworks serve different purposes and can complement each other. In this chapter we have described the components of the Enterprise Designer framework and compared them with ArchiMate. We discovered that the two frameworks complement each other.
We then looked at the relationship between Enterprise Designer and eTOM, and saw how to resolve gaps and inconsistencies.
A framework is a classification system. In the next chapter, we examine methodologies used to populate frameworks.
