Excel – conditional formatting
In Excel, conditional formatting enables you to highlight cells or format cells with different characteristics based on pre-defined conditions. You can select multiple conditions and use a variety of formatting, including foreground color, background color, font, size, and other properties:
You can add conditional formatting to a spreadsheet by clicking on the Conditional Formatting button on the Home tab, as shown in Figure 15.14. There are many ways you can create rules and conditions:
In Figure 15.15, we applied the Greater Than conditional formatting to F column, DIFFERENCE. If the result is greater than 100, we have a significant positive saving. Positive savings are highlighted with Green Fill with Dark Green Text.
