Understanding analytics and adopting best practices
You may remember from Chapter 12, Monitoring Your Site – Salesforce Native Reporting, that we installed the native adoption tracking dashboards into our instance. We also covered how you could expand that by leveraging bots and exposing reporting to consumers, Google Analytics, and CRMA. Consequently, we won’t be going through any additional installation instructions here. Instead, we are going to focus on best practices for you to consider as you launch metrics. We will also take a dive into how to set realistic expectations for initial results.
Put simply, you need to work with your stakeholders to define what they consider success. Do not try to cover everything at once; start small. Implement web analytics basics and a pick few key activities at your first attempt at analytics.
