Working with Shapes
In this section, we are going to begin by looking at some of the shape creation tools within Animate and see how to establish vector-based shape objects in order to apply motion to them in upcoming sections.
While Animate can certainly make use of imported content, such as bitmap images, sound files, and other types of external media files, the creation and manipulation of native vector shape objects is a workflow that Animate excels at. With a full range of tools that support the creation of vector shapes and a dedicated tweening engine to consider, there is no doubt that shapes are key to the Animate experience.
We'll now have a look at some of the important topics associated with the creation and manipulation of shapes within an Animate project. We'll examine the set of tools that allow creation of shape objects and see how to set different tool property values that directly influence the properties of the resulting shapes.
