Editions Overview and Installation
The starting point for each operating system (OS) is its installation. Manjaro, as one of the top Linux distributions, has two essential features in this regard: easy installation and several different graphical user interfaces (GUIs), or graphical frontends, named flavors. The installation is packed with automatic hardware (HW) recognition, and each GUI flavor has a similar setup. Even though we’ll try to cover all possible scenarios, some custom setups might need additional tweaking. In this case, check the internet as millions of Manjaro users write on the Manjaro forum and elsewhere, covering all problematic cases. Remember that when you’re searching, you shouldn’t rely on only one or two articles – always check several posts for any particular issue.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
- Editions overview
- Preparing for any installation
- Installing on a USB stick
- BIOS/UEFI setup...
