Summary

Here we come to the end of the book. We tried to develop a piece of home automation with various devices and technologies to help you understand the home automation concept, technologies, Intel Galileo, the Linux operating system, the Yocto Project, and so on. We also presented new technologies to improve the home automation system with better user interaction methods.

We used Node.js to create an application to run as a web server and to create a basic HTML user interface and communicate with native applications to send commands to it via web browser actions.

Then we showed how to develop an Android application to read the devices status from Intel Galileo and send commands to the Smart Home application from the network socket. We were not able to study Android too deeply, but it would be a good move for you to learn more about Android.
