Editing photos in Movie mode
In the Movie mode timeline, photos are actually treated very differently from videos. Apart from having fewer editing options, the way you interact with photos on the timeline is different. The playhead can only be placed at the start or end of a photo—when you tap on a photo, the playhead will move to the left or right edge of the clip. For this reason, you cannot split photos in Movie mode: you can only trim them from either end. Photos also behave differently in the Viewer compared to most videos. This is all to do with their shape and how they fit the video frame.
