Recovering SYSVOL
First, SYSVOL is a folder that resides on every domain controller within a domain, is located at C:\Windows\SYSVOL by default, and should be moved to another location only during promotion of the domain controller. SYSVOL contains folders, files, and junction points that utilize Distributed File System Replication (DFS-R) to keep files and folders synchronized between domain controllers. The SYSVOL folder is typically accessed through a namespace share such as \\ad.az801.com\sysvol or via the local domain controller share path of \\AZ801PacktLab-DC-01\sysvol. Additional folders and shares are listed as such:
