Cabling Wiring and Distribution Facilities
Throughout all modern office campuses exist interconnected systems of wiring and cabling that supply communications networks, Wi-Fi hubs, servers, and interconnected electronic security systems such as CCTV. Much thought should be put into how to make these systems secure, as intruders can cut cables, rewire, or place listening devices.
Distribution facilities provide communications cabling and wiring to multiple areas of an organization. The network data and voice channels come from the main distribution facility and then branch off into intermediate distribution facilities. The main distribution facility feeds the important facilities of the building’s infrastructure, including the data center and intermediate distribution facilities. Main distribution facilities provide data services to smaller facilities, such as wiring closets, a type of intermediate distribution facility.
