During the maintenance of your cluster, it may make sense to temporarily disable HA in order to prevent unnecessary HA events. This can be done by modifying the HA settings on this cluster to disable host monitoring.
Disabling Host Monitoring
How to do it...
The following procedure will help you to disable host monitoring on a cluster:
- Connect to vCenter server using the HTML5 client.
- Select the cluster from the inventory, navigate to Configure | vSphere Availability, and click Edit...
- On the Edit Cluster Settings window, flip the toggle switch next to Enable Host Monitoring from green to gray to turn off host monitoring, and click OK:
- You should see a Reconfigure Cluster task complete successfully in the Recent Tasks...
