Technical requirements
As we learn about common mistakes that can be made in our designs, we will continue working with Tinkercad as we have been throughout this book. Many of the strategies we will be discussing are applicable to a wide range of 3D printing techniques and material choices, so not knowing which resources you may have available just yet is OK and will not prevent you from finding success with the topics we will be covering in this chapter.
We will also be looking at how some of these mistakes can be identified and corrected in CAM software for 3D printing later in this chapter. There are many different CAM programs, also known as slicers, available for 3D printing as initially introduced in Chapter 10. Choosing a CAM program will depend on the model and type of 3D printer you are using, as we will discuss later in Chapter 14.
