Summary
This chapter introduced you to the developments that happened when classical computing was first developed and the challenges that were overcome. In a very similar manner, quantum computing and programming are now facing challenges that can also be overcome in time. You can now appreciate the various challenges that are faced in the low-level circuit programming for quantum computers, which are similar to the ones faced while programming classical computers. This will help you to explore more in this direction and find novel ways of solving challenges related to quantum programming.
It is also very important to note that software is just one part of quantum computing. The main challenges lie in the quantum hardware, because of which the programming of quantum computers becomes a difficult task. In the next chapter, we will discuss the Silq programming language, its features and use it to make simple quantum logic gates.
