Don't make a habit of this type of promotion on Twitter or you might lose followers. Each post has a link to your profile and your profile can usually be linked to your web site. Search engines give value to this type of link. It is possible that a forum uses a type of link called nofollow. This would mean a search engine would not then associate the link from your profile to your website. However there is still enormous potential benefit from direct visits from the forums users. It is also possible that forum users who have their own web site might decide to link to you. |

Search for blogs related to your industry. Often blog owners allow comments and often within these comments they allow links to your site. Just remember the rules. No obviously blatant promotions and make your comments valid to the specific blog article.
