Windows 7/XP machine converted to Proxmox KVM hangs during boot
The Windows operating system can be unforgiving when you convert or migrate from one type of hardware to another. It is certainly possible to convert/migrate just about any Windows OS as long as proper procedure is followed. Windows 7 VM only boots when rebooted manually
This issue causes a Windows 7 virtual machine to shut down when initiated reboot from within OS. A manual power on through the Proxmox GUI is required to power up the VM. This is an issue caused by the installation of Windows itself, especially a VM that is configured with a standard video.
