Summary
We have concluded our journey into the world of Project views and tables. We started this chapter with a deconstruction of existing views. Then, we explored every component in detail—tables, detailed split windows, filters, groups—to mine our schedule data for gems of information. Finally, everything we learned was brought together to create new custom views. With your own custom views, you do not have to spend hours massaging reams of data to find critical information for your project. This is crucial for projects whose schedules run into thousands of lines.
In the next chapter, we will take a similarly detailed journey into advanced resourcing concepts and tools within Project. We also discuss project-costing features that are built within Project. Resourcing and project costs are tightly coupled, and both topics are addressed from a monitoring and control perspective.
