Taking this further
So, we have just finished learning about GameMaker essentials. How can we take this further and continue to learn and develop our skills?
The first and best way to learn more is to go over the book again and experiment with everything. Experimentation is the base of learning what can and cannot be done. For example, we could go back to Chapter 7, Making a Game, and change aspects of the game we created or even add more features to it.
The next step is research. While this book has covered the essential skills that should be enacted when using GameMaker, there is still much more that can be done. If you don't know how to do something, just search online and someone may very well have asked and solved the problem before. Learn from other people's mistakes and other people's questions.
