Collecting performance counters for Azure
In Chapter 4, Identifying and Remediating Windows Server Security Issues Using Azure Services, in the Establishing a Data Collection Rule for the Azure Monitor Agent section, we learned that Data Collector Rules are a prerequisite for sending any alerts to Microsoft Azure for event collection, monitoring, troubleshooting, and alerting. We highly recommend that you review this chapter and section to refamiliarize yourself with the overall setup and architecture before proceeding to the Deploying Azure Monitor Agents section of Chapter 18.
