Summary
In this chapter, we looked at a vendor that is much different than the traditional cloud providers. As you can see, Cloudflare capitalized on its existing infrastructure to bring serverless to the edge, along with supporting services such as KV, Pages, and others. We looked at the key serverless technologies offered by them and understood the lay of the land. We also got our hands dirty by writing some workers and implementing a small project.
Cloudflare has been very innovative in bringing new services to the edge. The services that are in beta and private preview are going to mature soon and will be available to the public. Given their drive for performance, low latency, and other goals that enable customers to implement faster and better business solutions, it is only fair to assume that they would want to take this further with more services. We will soon see a more feature-rich edge computing platform that promotes serverless as its primary development philosophy.
